Job Description

The Finance Manager is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organization, including budgeting, forecasting, grant compliance, and financial reporting. This position supervises a team of eight finance professionals, including Budget Analysts, and ensures adherence to nonprofit accounting principles and regulatory requirements. The Finance Manager will play a key role in strategic financial planning, resource allocation, and maintaining fiscal integrity across all programs. Experience with nonprofit financial management and proficiency in NetSuite ERP are required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage the Finance team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
  • Oversee preparation, monitoring, and analysis of organizational and program budgets.
  • Ensure accurate and timely grant billing, reporting, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including Uniform Grants Guidance.
  • Develop and implement financial policies, internal controls, and best practices to safeguard organizational assets.
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to senior leadership and the Board.
  • Manage cash flow, forecasting, and financial modeling to support strategic decision-making.
  • Supervise reconciliation of accounts, including deferred revenue and grant receivables, and oversee collections.
  • Coordinate annual audits and ensure fiscal compliance across all funding portfolios.
  • Maintain and optimize financial systems, including NetSuite, to improve efficiency and reporting capabilities.
  • Stay current on nonprofit financial regulations and industry trends.
  • Collaborate with program leadership to align financial planning with organizational goals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum 7-10 years of progressive experience in finance, including 3+ years in a management role.
  • Demonstrated experience in nonprofit financial management, including grant compliance and restricted funds accounting.
  • Advanced proficiency in NetSuite ERP and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
